Mr. Grant Gould has been recently named to the position of Director of Orchestras at Cy-Fair High School, where he inspires students through the transformative power of music. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan and a master’s degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
His musical journey began in elementary school with piano, later expanding to a deep passion for classical percussion, which continues to inform his dynamic approach to teaching and performance. Later in life, he adopted the cello as his primary instrumental pursuit. Mastering the cello has become a new love and passion that he pursues daily with much enthusiasm.
For more than a decade, Mr. Gould taught middle school and high school band and percussion before transitioning to full-time string education. He is excited to direct his expertise and years of experience toward growing the Cy-Fair High School Orchestra Program to new levels of excellence and mastery.
In addition to his duties as a director, Mr. Gould teaches a steadily growing private cello studio.
Mr. Gould is also a seasoned perfromer and can be found regularly performing at Houston-area churches, theaters, and concert halls, bringing his musical versatility to diverse audiences.
Mr. Gould is deeply passionate about music education, believing the arts serve as a profound medium for teaching life lessons and fostering personal growth for students of all ages. His commitment to fostering and inspiring creativity and discipline ensures that his students not only excel musically but also develop skills that enrich their lives beyond the classroom for years to come.
